About Us
With the advent of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act,
government agencies were mandated to comply to this law by making their
websites accessible to the disabled. To insure this compliance, the Department
of Homeland Security's
Office of Accessible Systems & Technology established
the Trusted Tester
Program
This program consists of an intensive training and testing
curriculum spanning months to teach analysts website accessibility. From theory
to practice, analysts learn how to test websites against 81 specific failure
conditions. Passing a demanding final exam with a score of 90% or higher earns
the Trusted Tester a certificate to practice accessibility analysis and
reporting. Their work product is a spreadsheet-based report noting violations
in an objective and consistent manner.
This contrasts to accessibility consultant reports that are
typically more narrative, hence more subjective. The mission of the Trusted
Tester Program is to field analysts who will produce the same, consistent,
objective, and reliable accessibility report on any given website.
Whereas the Office of Accessible Systems & Technology
provides certified Trusted Testers a fine technical support forum, that is not
a forum for commercial pursuits. This unaffiliated forum is the place for
that.
We are a collection of those certified Trusted Testers ready
and willing to be hired to make your website accessible to the disabled.
